NAP Website Privacy Statement
This document sets forth the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) website Privacy Statement (the “Privacy Statement”) for this website, www.parliamentarians.org (the “Site”). If you do not agree to the provisions in the Privacy Statement, you should not access or use the Site. This Privacy Statement does not govern privacy practices associated with offline activities or other websites affiliated with NAP.
Browsing the Site
You can browse the Site anonymously by not choosing to provide us with any personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, during your visits to the Site. When you browse this way, we won’t be able to associate your online activity and requests with any membership or customer information we have on file.
Accessing Features
In order to access certain features of the Site, you need to provide us some information so that we can determine what information you are allowed to access, and so that we can respond to requests that you make. Providing this information is optional, but you won’t be able to take advantage of all of the Site’s features unless you provide the required information indicated in your browser window.
Collecting Information
When you visit the Site, we may collect the following information provided by you in order to provide you information that you are trying to access, or to respond to your requests:
- E-mail address. Your e-mail address serves as your unique user name when logging in to the Site. You may change your e-mail address as needed. You must have access to the e-mail address you provide us, and follow instructions to confirm your address, in order to subscribe to mailing lists and take advantage of certain other features on the Site.

How We May Share Personal Information
The National Association of Parliamentarians does not share personal information with third parties, except for certain vendors it uses to conduct its normal business (such as the company that prints mailing labels for the National Parliamentarian). NAP forbids its members from using membership directory information for any purpose other than NAP business. NAP manages personal information collected via the Site in the same manner it manages this information when collected via e-mail, telephone, or regular mail.
If you choose to pay for products or services online, NAP will collect information required to complete the payment and securely transmit it to Commerce Bank Merchant Services for online payment processing. Once NAP receives a response (payment approval or rejection) from Commerce, only the customer name, approval code, and transaction number for reference are retained. Commerce Bank Merchant Services retains payment information as needed to complete the financial transaction with your credit card provider; see the Commerce Bank Web site for details on its privacy practices.
