Member Price: $125.00
Start learning effective meeting procedure today! Or, if you already have a strong grasp of parliamentary procedure but don't have time to teach others (or aren't quite sure how), refer students, colleagues, or fellow organization members to this self-paced course so that they, too, can participate effectively in meetings.
Parliamentary Procedure Made Easy is a basic course designed for those who have no experience with parliamentary procedure or for those who are just beginning to learn parliamentary procedure basics. The course is based on Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised In Brief, the introductory book by the same authors as the authoritative Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised. The course guides participants through the following topics at their own pace:
• rules of organizations
• conducting business in meetings;
• what motions are and how to handle them
• voting
• discussion of proposed actions, or debate
• how motions are improved through amendment, referred to a committee when needed, and postponed for later consideration
• how to change a previous decisions through the motions reconsider, rescind, and amend something previously adopted
• enforcing and temporarily bypassing the organization's rules.
The course will typically take five to seven hours to complete for participants who are new to parliamentary procedure. Participants can stop at any time, and resume where they left off the next time that they start the course. Each lesson is followed by a short quiz to help participants check how much they have absorbed with instant feedback on the answers. A certificate is awarded to those who achieve an overall score of 70 out of the total 100 questions in the course.
