Members of WSAP can join one or more units. Most units also allow those not yet members of NAP/WSAP to join as provisional members. WSAP members who do not belong to one of the units in the state are considered members at large for determining the number of delegates to the state and national conventions.

Joining a unit of WSAP is easy! Anybody interested in learning more about parliamentary procedure, gaining experience as a presiding officer or parliamentarian, or having a general interest in parliamentary law may join.

Joining a unit allows members to

Meet regularly and network with fellow parliamentarians,
Participate in educational programs,
Work toward achievement of RP or PRP status,
Gain experience with parliamentary techniques, and
Contribute to the achievement of WSAP's goals.

Start a Unit
Members form new units for several reasons:

There are no units in a member's city or region,
Members share a particular area of interest in parliamentary law or practice such as municipal clerks and Professional Registered Parliamentarians, or
Members wish to meet at different times and/or locations, or discuss different topics than existing units.

Any five or more members of WSAP can form a new unit; however, a unit must maintain a total of at least five active and/or affiliate members in order to remain in good standing.
