Louise Saks Parliamentary Unit
The Louise Saks Parlimentary Unit (LSPU) was originally named the Parliamentary Unit of Oakland. We changed our name in May 1990 to honor Mary Louise Saks, the founder and longtime supporter of the unit. The LSPU was honored to be recognized as the NAP unit of the year for Michigan in 2003 - 2007 and 2009 by the Michigan State Association of Parliamentarians.
Meeting Time, Place, Location and Directions
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Visitors are invited and welcome to attend.
We meet each month from September through May on the third Tuesday of the month at the First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham. Each meeting has two parts. An education period begins at 9:30 a.m. The business meeting begins at 11:00 a.m. Most meetings end by Noon.
Our May annual meeting is followed by a luncheon.
The First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham is located in Birmingham at 1669 West Maple Road. Please park in the lot at the rear of the building and then enter the church through the double doors located at the southwest corner of the building. Upon entering, proceed up the short flight of stairs. Turn left at the top of the stairs and walk straight ahead. You will walk right into the meeting room.
Membership
Membership in the LSPU is open to anyone interested in the study or practice of parliamentary procedure.
