NAP Meeting Toolkit
Are you a member or officer of an organization? Do you need to preside at a meeting or convention, or lead a committee meeting? Are you serving as a parliamentarian to an organization? The National Association of Parliamentarians provides a number of resources to make your meetings run smoothly, and to make you look and feel organized, prepared, and confident.
Consider quick reference tools like the Simplified Guide to Motions, summarizing pertinent facts about all of the motions you'll encounter, and other helpful facts. Need to know whether a motion to Postpone to a Certain Time can be discussed before voting? Confused about the vote required to amend a convention standing rule once it is adopted? This guide puts the answers at your fingertips.
NAP's parliamentary reference cards are durable plastic cards designed to be used before, during, and after meetings. Avoid testing your math skills in front of a crowd—the vote calculator allows you to calculate majority and two-thirds votes instantly. Review guidelines for taking minutes correctly, or the proper steps in handling a motion. If you would like help handling specific motions, NAP's motion script cards are index card-sized aids to help you through a meeting; for a larger format and more comprehensive list of motions, Presidentially Speaking, from the Pathways to Proficiency series, is for you.
Finally, if your meetings have gone paperless, use Electronic Reference:Motions to quickly retrieve important information about motions, such as the vote required, the proper phrasing, and where in RONR to find more details. NAP also carries the CD-ROM version of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised.
Assemble a meeting toolkit with all of the tools you need by browsing the online store or the NAP Order Form.
