Help Celebrate IAP's 50th 7/22-23/2011
- Plan to attend! The Annual Session and dinner/auction will be Friday and the Education Institute will be Saturday. IAP has a limited number of rooms at a great rate ($79), so get your reservations early. Call the Lisle Hilton at (630) 505-0900 (group: Illinois Association of Parliamentarians, code: CIPA).
- Send in pictures of your parliamentary activities (see article below).
- Donate items for the Friday night auction.
- Advertise in the program, and/or ask your clients and local businesses to do so.

A Pictorial History of IAP
IAP’s 50th Anniversary Committee is putting together a pictorial history of our association, to be shown at next year’s celebration. Send photos (of IAP members at NAP, District Four, IAP or unit events identifying the names, event and year) to Barbara Ann Smith, PRP, 29W468 Hawthorne Lane, Warrenville IL 60555. To have photos returned enclose a self addressed envelope; others will be forwarded to the IAP Historian. Digital photos (high resolution jpg) can be emailed to basmithprp@sbcglobal.net. Questions? IAP Annual Session Summary
- Elected to the nominating committee were Denise Williams (MAL), Deborah Underwood (Marjan), and James Lampkins (Moraine Valley).
- The budget was approved.
- The bylaw amendment required by NAP changing the fiscal year to 12/1-11/30 was announced.
- A new standing rule was added, as per the NAP directive: that IAP may have three attendees at the NAP Leadership Conference, at least two of are officers.
- The policy regarding workshops at colleges was rescinded.

- Parliamentary Units have regular study sessions to learn and practice parliamentary procedure. Visit the membership page of this site to find a local unit.
- For about an hour following IAP Board meetings, the Registered Parliamentary Unit meets to study advanced parliamentary strategies. Membership is limited to Registered and Professional Registered Parliamentarians who are members of IAP.

2nd Place in Nationals
On May 8 the Waubonsie Valley High School took 2nd place at the Business Professionals of America national competition in Anaheim, CA.
