Dogwood Unit

Purpose
  • Provide experiences to help leaders conduct business efficiently and fairly.
  • Promote leadership by teaching effective parliamentary procedure.
  • Prepare provisional members for the membership examination.
  • Assist regular members in meeting requirements to become credentialed as Registered Parliamentarians® (RP) and Professional Registered Parliamentarians® (PRP).

Membership in the Dogwood Unit
The Dogwood unit is a small group that has a cross section of members from throughout the metropolitan area who are leaders in a variety of organizations. Their varied experience contributes to the unit’s success in meeting the needs of members.

Three Categories of Unit Membership
Primary
Existing National Association of Parliamentarians® (NAP) members form the unit’s membership group.
Affiliate
NAP members who are primary members of other units are affiliate members.
Provisional
Beginners join the unit in a provisional capacity and prepare to meet requirements to become regular NAP members by passing the membership examination. Provisional members are unit members only.
