NAP National Committees
The standing and special committees of the National Association of Parliamentarians carry on a great deal of its work, with responsiblities varying from the organization of conferences and conventions to processing of membership and registration examinations. Executive Committee
The executive committee conducts strategic planning for NAP, hires the association's executive director, and manages volume and pricing of NAP's educational and promotional products. The committee also conducts unanticipated business of the association that requires action between board meetings.

Budget-Finance Committee
The budget-finance committee ensures the financial health of the organization by preparing the biennial budget, monitoring spending, managing investments, and preparing financial reports.

Bylaws
The bylaws committee reviews and prepares proposed bylaw changes for each biennial convention, ensuring consistency with other rules and, in consultation with legal counsel, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. The committee also reviews the bylaws of NAP's constituent divisions.

Communications
The communications committee manages the two major communication vehicles NAP uses to reach out to and inform its members and the public: National Parliamentarian magazine and the NAP Web site. The committee is also responsible for maintaining the association's marketing plan.

Educational Resources
The educational resources committee develops the wide range of educational materials that NAP produces, serving novice and professional parliamentarians, students and teachers, and members of the public who simply need high-quality meeting reference materials.

Membership Extension and Retention
The membership extension and retention committee, composed of the vice president and district directors, promotes the formation and growth of associations, local units, and youth groups, and promotes educational activities, particularly in unchartered regions.

Membership Examiners
The membership examiners committee develops and maintains the NAP membership examination, including the bank of 300 questions. The committee processes membership exams and membership applications.

Nominating
Composed of one member from each NAP district, the nominating committee considers nominations for elected office in NAP, and prepares a report to the association including at least one nominee for each office.

Professional Development
The professional development committee develops and maintains the curriculum, and coordinates the courses, required to attain and maintain professional registered status as a member of NAP.

Registration Examiners
The registration examiners committee develops and maintains the bank of 1200 questions from which the registration examination is taken, and prepares and processes registration exams and applications for registered status.

Youth
The youth committee encourages participation of youth in NAP's programs, manages NAP's partnerships with national youth organizations, helps these organizations provide effective instruction to their members, and administers scholarships provided to high achievers.
